Numerical Investigation of the Adsorption Process of Zeolite/Water in a Thermochemical Reactor for Seasonal Heat Storage

Zeolite 13X molecular sieve with high sorption capacity and significant rate has been considered a promising candidate for seasonal heat storage. In this study, code is developed to simulate the adsorption process between zeolite water in all ranges of partial pressures, temperatures, sorbate loadings. The results from proposed were compared experiments good agreement was observed. After validation, model used study effective parameters involved binder-free 13X. A parametric considering various temperatures content inflow air conducted influence different factors on outlet temperature enthalpy studied. This gives insight into measures which can be taken achieving desired released energy or having preferred range. simulations have variety provided during desorption process, humidity amount, mass flow incoming air. relative each parameter specified presented. demonstrated direct relationship pressure vapor adsorbed amount while changing mostly influences discharging time.
